Life has just been grand! This whole summer has been wonderful, and at times stressful, but mostly wonderful :)
My days have been filled with sleeping in, lifeguarding, reading, relaxing, spending time with friends and family, and spending time with my heavenly Daddy. God is so good, as He always is, but I'm ready to go back to school. Being home is lovely, and I savor every moment of it, but I just know I'm ready. I'm getting so excited about this next year. Rooming with Hannah, being a Communications major with a minor in Youth Ministry, Younglife, Koin, ACO, and everything else in between. I'm going to go ahead and be brutally honest right here and tell you that my first year at school was really hard, and at some points, horrible. But this year will be so much better, I just know. I keep thinking about going back to school, and registering for classes, and the whole shin-dig, and I just can't help but squeal with anticipation! ...Okay so maybe I don't squeal...but you get the idea ;)
God has thought me so much lately, and I know that He has blessed me beyond measure, and loved me more than I can fathom. Here is a glimpse of what my amazing summer has been filled with...

And there are many many more memories that really can't be summed up into pictures and explanations. God is so good to me, and He has filled me up with so much life and love and joy throughout the summer. I have been broken down, and made new again. I have learned and loved and lived and prayed. I've watched God work in so many lives, and change hearts. I am in AWE of how incredible He truly is.
As of Wednesday this week, I will FINALLY be able to register for classes for the fall of 2010! If you haven't been clued in on whats been going on...I have been slowly paying off last semester because of a bunch of reasons. With that, I am not able to register for classes for this next semester because of the bill i still have to finish off paying. But WEDNESDAY people WEDNESDAY. Like in 1 day. I am THRILLED. God has provided through a bunch of wonderful servants in my life, and I am so grateful and humbled. Because of these people- alumni, friends, and family I will be going back to Houghton in 10 days! PRAISE GOD from whom all blessings flow! :) He is so faithful, and through this experience, I am reminded of that.
To wrap up this bloggeroo, let me share with u a verse that I have been reading and re-reading. One that God is literally pouring into my heart right now.
1 Thessalonians 5:12-24
"Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.14 And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 16 Be joyful always;17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not put out the Spirit's fire;20 do not treat prophecies with contempt.21 Test everything. Hold on to the good.22 Avoid every kind of evil. 23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it."
Amen huh? :) Be blessed by that today.
Your sister,
Emmi
